Assistant Director of Equipment Operations

About the role

The Assistant Director of Equipment Operations supports the Director in managing athletic equipment services across Georgetown University’s intercollegiate programs. This on‑campus role combines strategic coordination with day‑to‑day oversight of equipment operations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct oversight for assigned sport programs and ensure equipment readiness.
• Supervise equipment room staff and student workers, including scheduling and performance management.
• Manage inventory control, procurement processes, and vendor contract compliance.
• Coordinate athletic transportation services and maintain operational efficiency.
• Uphold departmental policies, NCAA regulations, and university guidelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 3–5 years of experience in athletic equipment operations or a related field, preferably with NCAA‑level intercollegiate programs.
• Experience overseeing inventory systems and supporting equipment room functions.
• Prior supervision of student workers, interns, or part‑time staff preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
• Knowledge of NCAA rules related to equipment and student‑athlete benefits.
