About the role
The Georgetown Law Financial Aid Office is seeking a Manager of Financial Aid Loans and Work-Study to oversee the administration of federal work‑study and private loan programs. Reporting to the Senior Associate Director, you will serve as a primary resource for students, families, and internal partners.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the annual Federal Work‑Study program budget of $1‑1.5 M and private loan portfolio, currently $2.5 M and projected to grow.
- Review, audit, and process financial aid applications, ensuring timely disbursement of scholarships, loans, and work‑study funds.
- Provide financial counseling to students, monitor enrollment status, and assess emergency circumstances.
- Maintain accurate financial aid records, update student data, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations.
- Collaborate with Law Registrar, Student Accounts, University Billing, Academic Affairs, OPICS, Career Strategy, and alumni offices.
Required profile
- Experience in higher‑education financial aid administration, particularly with work‑study and loan programs.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, private, and institutional aid policies.
- Excellent communication skills for interaction with students, families, faculty, and external partners.
- Detail‑oriented with ability to manage a large active caseload.
