Onboarding Advisor (AML/KYC)

About the role

PwC's Channel Islands firm is hiring an Onboarding Advisor (Senior Associate 1) in its Client Onboarding Team, based in Alderney and working from home. The role acts as the main link between engagement teams, their clients and the KYC Operations team, supporting the client onboarding experience. It sits within the risk and compliance line of service, which advises clients on regulatory compliance and risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to AML-related queries on procedures, policy and KYC systems
• Keep engagement teams updated on onboarding status, escalate issues early and solve problems proactively
• Guide clients and teams through the KYC process to gather the documentation needed to meet AML requirements
• Act as a conduit between KYC Operations and clients/teams, clarifying requirements and simplifying requests
• Serve as the first point of contact for KYC Operations on KYC profiles, using existing data and local industry knowledge
• Charge all onboarding time to the relevant WBS codes so that management information is accurate

Required profile

• Understanding of KYC, the financial regulatory environment and AML risk implications
• Understanding of the legal structures of various client types
• Experience in client relationship, client risk, AML or KYC roles
• Ability to build strong relationships with diverse teams and to escalate issues when necessary
• Ability to work to KPIs and be accountable for output
• Some travel may be required from time to time

Required skills

• Desirable: knowledge of compliance monitoring processes and quality standards
• Desirable: understanding of client structures and regulatory needs, and experience with complex regulatory conditions
• Desirable: strong communicator, able to influence change and think digitally about solutions
• An AML certificate or similar qualification is beneficial
