Preliminary Match Team Leader

About the role

The Preliminary Match Team Leader provides guidance and support to the Preliminary Match Coordinator team, ensuring high‑quality service for donors and the National Marrow Donor Program.

Key responsibilities

• Guide and support the Preliminary Match Coordinator team.
• Conduct periodic reviews of donor statuses and files to maintain quality and compliance.
• Receive and manage preliminary match donors transferred from other centers and those requested for clinical trials.
• Monitor team performance and collaborate with the Donor Quality Manager on improvement projects and goals.
• Deliver excellent customer service to donors and the National Marrow Donor Program.
• Communicate via phone, email, fax, letters, and face‑to‑face with staff, donors, laboratory personnel, and program partners, resolving issues promptly.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a health‑related field preferred.
• 1–2 years of combined work and educational experience in a health‑related setting (or equivalent experience).
• Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work with diverse colleagues and donors and maintain attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency with word‑processing software.
• General computer literacy.
