About the role

Join BairesDev as a Google Cloud Platform Architect and lead AI‑driven mainframe modernization projects. You will transform legacy COBOL systems into modern Java, Go, or .NET applications on Google Cloud, while advising clients on the business impact of these migrations.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and drive application modernization initiatives, re‑architecting legacy and mainframe‑class systems for GCP.
• Design and implement data architecture solutions on GCP, including BigQuery and analytics pipelines.
• Engage with client stakeholders to explain the criticality of legacy systems and the value of modernization.
• Collaborate with distributed engineering teams within a fully GCP‑based environment.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture, specifically Google Cloud Platform.
• Proven track record in modernizing legacy or mainframe systems using Java, Go, or .NET.
• Strong background in GCP data architecture, BigQuery, and data pipeline design.
• Consulting or professional services experience with client‑facing delivery.
• Familiarity with AI engineering practices such as harness engineering or spec‑driven design.
• Excellent requirements‑gathering and test‑driven design skills.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
