Secondary History Teacher

About the role

Agora Andorra International School is seeking a qualified History Teacher for its Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP) at the secondary level, starting September 2026. The successful candidate will deliver engaging history lessons that develop critical thinking, inquiry, and international mindedness in a multilingual, boarding environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high‑quality History lessons aligned with IB MYP and DP frameworks.
• Foster critical thinking, academic writing, inquiry‑based learning, and international‑mindedness.
• Prepare students for internal assessments, external examinations, and key IB requirements.
• Differentiate instruction to support a diverse range of learners.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom climate.
• Utilise a variety of methodologies, digital tools, and resources to enhance learning.
• Monitor, assess, and document student progress following IB and school assessment policies.
• Collaborate with Humanities and Languages departments to ensure curriculum coherence.
• Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress.
• Participate in departmental meetings, school events, professional development, and whole‑school initiatives.

Required profile

• Degree in History or a related field.
• Master’s degree in Secondary Teacher Training (Máster en Formación del Profesorado), PGCE, or equivalent.
• Advanced level of English (C2/native/bilingual); Spanish is an asset.
• Minimum 2 years of experience teaching History at secondary level, preferably in an international context.
• Experience with IB MYP and/or IB DP is highly desirable.
• Valid work permit for Andorra or the European Union.
• Availability to start in September 2026.
