Senior Data Engineer

About the role

Phantom, a fully remote fintech company of around 180 people, is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to build and scale the data foundation that powers analytics, experimentation and decision-making across the company. The role works on complex on-chain data problems, collaborating with Data Science, Product and Engineering to combine blockchain data, product analytics and marketing integrations.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement data architecture capable of handling hundreds of terabytes with 10x growth, keeping performance and reliability
• Drive data quality across the organization with observability and monitoring solutions
• Lead data modeling to support scalable, performant systems
• Build and scale A/B testing frameworks
• Translate business requirements into scalable data solutions with cross-functional partners
• Mentor teams on data best practices and data-driven methodologies

Required profile

• 5+ years building and scaling data infrastructure in high-growth environments
• Startup experience, able to wear multiple hats and drive initiatives independently
• Experience implementing data quality frameworks and observability solutions
• Experience building and scaling experimentation (A/B testing) infrastructure
• Track record managing data infrastructure during explosive growth

Required skills

• Deep expertise in Snowflake and dbt
• Data modeling, schema design and data architecture at scale
• Expert-level SQL and Python
• Preferred: Snowflake, dbt, Rudderstack, Sigma Computing, Metaplane, Eppo, blockchain or cryptocurrency experience, dashboard optimization, data cataloging and metadata management
