Senior Data Scientist

About the role

Phantom, a fully remote crypto wallet and trading app with about 180 people, is hiring a Senior Data Scientist. You will help shape consumer products through rigorous analysis, experimentation and reliable data, working closely with Product, Engineering, Design and Growth to understand user behavior and guide product decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze user journeys, activation, engagement, retention and monetization to recommend product improvements
• Design and evaluate A/B tests, including hypotheses, metrics, guardrails, sample sizing and interpretation, and communicate uncertainty
• Define and maintain product metrics and partner with Engineering to improve instrumentation
• Build reusable analytical datasets and dbt models using SQL, and collaborate with Data Engineering on Snowflake, Dagster and ETL pipelines
• Use Python for statistical analysis, modeling and automation, and incorporate AI coding tools such as Codex, Claude Code and Cursor while reviewing generated code
• Lead ambiguous problems independently and communicate recommendations to technical and non-technical partners

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in data science, product analytics or a related field, with a record of influencing product decisions
• Strong foundation in statistics, including probability, inference, hypothesis testing, regression and bias/confounding
• Hands-on experience designing and analyzing A/B tests
• Experience partnering with product teams, ideally on consumer products
• Nice to have: experience with Snowflake, crypto, tokenized assets, finance or fintech

Required skills

• Advanced SQL and strong Python
• Working knowledge of dbt, data modeling and modern data platforms
• Familiarity with orchestration tools such as Dagster and ETL pipelines
• Hands-on experience with AI coding tools such as Codex, Claude Code or Cursor
